President: Joe Sample
Joe is the founder and Executive Director of Sports Officials Youth Alliance. He has officiated high school football since 1996 and is certified through the Iowa High School Athletic Association and is a member of the Des Moines Officials Association. Joe holds a B.A. in Psychology from Central College (Pella, IA), an Master's in Public Administration from Drake University, and is currently pursuing his Master's in Bioethics and Health Policy from Loyola University-Chicago. He is currently employed by Iowa Health-Des Moines in its Office of Research and serves on the hospital Ethics Committee. Joe serves as the Board Chair for the Pleasantville Christian Church in Pleasantville, Iowa. He is the father of three daughters and resides in Pleasantville with his wife and family.
Vice President: David Bagby
David is a charter Board Member and Vice President of the Sports Officials Youth Alliance. He has officiated high school football since 1992 and is certified through the Iowa High School Athletic Association. David is currently employed by the City of Des Moines (Iowa) in its land use division, is President of the the Parish Council at St. Johns Basilica in Des Moines, and is a member of the Dream Team RAGBRAI, a youth oriented program. He and his wife have been Business Associates with National Companies for the past 7 years and are volunteers at the Mitcheville Womens Correctional facility as a part of the Residence Encounter Christ Program.
Treasurer: Tim Stiles
Tim is a charter Board Member and Treasurer of the Sports Officials Youth Alliance. He has been a certified Football Official with the Iowa High School Athletic Association and member of the Des Moines Officials' Association since 1994; serving currently as President of the Des Moines Association. Tim has eighteen years of professional financial experience including the past eight at the Des Moines International Airport as Finance Director. Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting & Economics from Luther College, has earned designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and is an active member of the Association of Airport Internal Auditors (AAIA) and Airports Council International (ACI). He is active in several community and faith-based initiatives, is the father of two young boys, and resides in Des Moines with his wife and family.
Secretary: Jeff Brundage
Jeff is a charter Board Member and Secretary of the Sports Officials Youth Alliance. He has been a officiating high school footbal since 1993, is certified through the Iowa High School Athletic Association, and is a member of the Des Moines Officials Association. Jeff has an extensive background in purchasing and is currently employed by The Weitz Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa. Jeff resides in West Des Moines, Iowa with his two sons.
At-Large Member (1-year): Mike Everitt
Mike joined Sports Officials Youth Alliance as a Board Member in 2008. He is a Major League Umpire and has worked the 2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and the 2007 World Series. Mike has been an baseball umpire for over 15 years and serves on the Major League Umpires Association Union Board. Mike resides in Clive, Iowa with his wife and two children.
